In Loving Memory: Todd Cranston

The Metro High School Hockey League family is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Todd Cranston. Todd was much more than a coach; he was a staple of the hockey community and a man whose influence stretched far beyond the rink.

As a proud coach of the Citadel High School Hockey Team, Todd was a mentor in the truest sense (especially to his son Alec). His passion for the sport was matched by his dedication to giving back. Whether he was behind the bench or supporting community initiatives, Todd’s commitment to the growth of young athletes and the betterment of his community was unwavering.

Beyond the rinks and the scoreboard, Todd was, first and foremost, a family man. His pride in his family was evident to everyone who knew him, and that sense of warmth and loyalty extended to every player he coached. He treated the hockey community like an extension of his own family, leaving a lasting mark on the lives of countless students, parents, and fellow coaches.

The entire Metro High School Hockey League - all teams, players, and coaches - wish to extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Cranston family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Todd’s spirit will continue to live on through the players he inspired and the community he helped build.

Rest in peace, Coach.
